Jewelry Inspired by Historic Fashions

Pearl Creations

You'll feel like royalty with these classy and elegant jewelry pieces. A 1950s bridal gown from Mississippi State University's Historic Costume and Textiles Collection inspired the jewelry. The bridal gown was influenced by Queen Elizabeth's iconic wedding gown and has a royal feel to it. The dress's lovely, elegant, and refined features include a high collar, buttons, sequins, and pearls, to name a few. The color of the ivory gown is reflected in the jewelry. Another source of inspiration for these jewelry pieces is the decade in which the dress was created. Pearls experienced a surge in popularity in the 1950s. Pearls represent wisdom gained through life's experiences and purity. Modern jewelry pieces such as earrings, bracelets, and chokers were inspired by the gown's features. Each piece is made by hand using a combination of pearls and crystal beads. Beading techniques were used to create the dangle earrings, bracelets, and chokers. Each pearl bead was glued on individually for the pearl stud earrings. These pieces are inspired by a lovely bridal gown, with a focus on 1950s components, and each one will look gorgeous for any occasion. Each piece lends a touch of sophistication and elegance to any ensemble.
