Trashion 2021

Every year, the fashion department at Mississippi State University hosts a fashion show known as Trashion. For the trashion show, students are challenged to make garments out of used, thrown-out, found, and repurposed elements.

For my garment, I collaborated with a fellow fashion major and I used magazines to construct the skirt and my partner used tea bags to make the top.  I also constructed a train for the design out of a plastic tablecloth and attached feathers to it.

Gatsby Gala 2022

The Gala features a runway show of 1920s-inspired garments, designed, created, and modeled by MSU Fashion Design and Merchandising students.

For my design, I wanted to create a modern version of Gatsby inspired fashion. So, for my design I used traditional materials that were popular in the 1920s such as fringe and pearls.

Trashion 2022

Every year, the fashion department at Mississippi State University hosts a fashion show known as Trashion. For the trashion show, students are challenged to make garments out of used, thrown-out, found, and repurposed elements.

For the 2022 Trashion Show, I repurposed a photo backdrop. For my second garment, I got the opportunity to use a fabric that was made from red solo cups.

Gatsby Gala 2023

The Gala features a runway show of 1920s-inspired garments, designed, created, and modeled by MSU Fashion Design and Merchandising students.

For my design, I really wanted to embrace the glitz and glam of the 1920s. So, for my design a created a maxi dress with pearl details and sequin and mesh fabric with a black underlay.
